As a Christmas gift to commuters, the month-long 24/7 free rides on the Edsa Carousel will begin today, December 1. The program, which is run in conjunction with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, will continue until December 31, according to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) (LTFRB).
There are 18 bus stops along the route from Caloocan City to the Paraaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITx). 100 public utility buses (PUBs) will operate as part of the 24/7 operations starting at 11 p.m. on the Edsa Busway. while around 650 more will travel starting at 4 a.m. till 3:59 a.m. to 10:59 p.m.
Due to the anticipated increase in traffic over the upcoming holiday season and the extension of mall hours past 11 a.m., the DOTr has increased the number of buses using the Edsa Busway. to 11 p.m.
The DOTr will step up security efforts in the Edsa Busway via the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT).
